The ROSE
Availability: 
Eternally popular with brides, the Rose is available in a wide range of colours and sizes. Most varieties are available all year round due to demand. The Rose combines well with other blooms, and is robust and long lasting when used in bouquets, buttonholes and floral arrangements. |

The GERBERA
Availability:  The GERBERA has Daisy-like blooms with layers of thin petals. They are available in many sizes including miniature, single-flowered, double-flowered and spider varieties. Colours include white, cream, yellow, gold, pink, magenta, salmon, orange, red and bi-colours. The Gerbera combines well with Roses and other flowers. |

The CALLA LILY
Availability: 
CALLA Lilies are solitary flower heads ranging in size from 3 to 6 inches in length. Always popular, they make excellent bouquet flowers and combine well with other flowers in bigger arrangements. Colours include white, yellow, pink, lavender, rose, orange and green, with the smaller sized varieties having the widest colour range. Callas last well, up to seven days. |

The ALSTROEMERIA
Availability: 
The main stems of the ALSTROEMERIA branch into four to six short pedicels, each holding two to four flower buds. Colours include yellow, apricot, orange, salmon, pink, red, mauve, lavender, purple, cream, white and bi-colours. Alstroemeria blooms are delicate, but typically last one to two weeks. |

The FREESIA
Availability: 
The FREESIA is a strongly scented flower. Each bell-shaped Freesia bloom comprises five to ten single or double flowers. Stems have little or no foliage. The blooms are long lasting and are available in white, golden yellow, orange, red, pink, mauve, lavender, purple and bi-colours. |

The CYMBIDIUM ORCHID
Availability: 
CYMBIDIUM ORCHID flowers have a five-petal butterfly-like shape and are 3 to 4 inches acress. Available colours are white, yellow, pink, brown, green or lavender. Some varieties come with pink or red lips. Remember: although this Orchid is available throughout most of the year, specific colours have their own seasons. If you are looking for a colour match it is best to check availability well in advance. |

The DENDROBIUM ORCHID
Availability: 
The DENDROBIUM ORCHID has flowers with a butterfly-like shape. Blooms are 3 to 4 inches acress. Dendrobium blooms are typically white or lavender. |

The PHALAENOPSIS ORCHID
Availability: 
The PHALAENOPSIS ORCHID has moth or butterfly-shaped flowers in colours such as white, pink, purple and bi-colours. |

The GLORIOSA LILY
Availability: 
The GLORIOSA LILY lasts well in summer heat. The blooms hold their form out of water for a long time. The buds continue to open long after picking. The bright, vibrant and intense red, gold, lemon and pink flower colours and the lush green leaves of Gloriosa Lilies combine well with many other flowers such as Roses and Calla Lilies. Special care: To prevent pollen from staining petals or clothing, Flower Sensation Too will remove stamens. |

The IRIS
Availability: 
IRIS flowers open to 1 to 3 inches across. Long, thin, pointed leaves grow from the base of the stem. Colours include bluish-purple, deep purple, lavender, white and yellow. Many varieties have yellow markings on the lower part of the petals. |

The ORIENTAL LILY
Availability: 
The ORIENTAL LILY has trumpet-shaped flowers which open to 6 inches in diameter. Stems carry four to eight blooms. Arrangements can use both open and closed blooms to good effect. Oriental Lilies last well, up to a week. Colours include white, yellow, pink, red and orange. Many have a deeper colour with freckles on the inner petal. Special care: To prevent pollen from staining petals or clothing, Flower Sensation Too will remove stamens. |

The ORNITHOGALUM
Availability: 
ORNITHOGALUM flower heads are made up of between eight and twelve star-shaped florets, each about one inch across. There are several varieties, with the arabicum being most commonly used to complement other blooms in a bouquet. This variety is white with a distinctive black centre. Other varieties are available in orange, yellow and cream. |
